Suzette and Lorenzo travelled all the way from San Francisco to celebrate their intimate wedding in Portugal, surrounded by their closest family and friends. Their day took place at the beautiful Pousada Castelo de Óbidos, inside the medieval walls of one of the most charming villages near Lisbon.

Há qualquer coisa de verdadeiramente especial quando se vem de fora para casar em Portugal — especialmente quando os noivos escolhem lugares cheios de história, textura e beleza tranquila, como Óbidos.
A Suzzete e o Lorenzo viajaram desde São Francisco para celebrar o seu casamento intimista em Portugal, rodeados apenas pela família e amigos mais próximos. O dia aconteceu na maravilhosa Pousada Castelo de Óbidos, dentro das muralhas de uma das vilas medievais mais bonitas perto de Lisboa.
Desde o primeiro momento que existia uma calma muito especial à volta deles. Sem pressas, sem grandes encenações — apenas duas pessoas totalmente presentes uma para a outra e para aqueles que mais amam.
Um dos momentos que mais me marcou foi ver a Suzzete a preparar-se com a mãe. Houve lágrimas, sorrisos discretos e aquela emoção silenciosa que não precisa de muitas palavras. Toda a atmosfera do dia foi profundamente íntima e sentida.
O tempo em Óbidos trouxe-nos bastante vento e uma luz desafiante em alguns momentos, mas de alguma forma tudo isso acabou por fazer parte da história. O movimento do vestido, as ruas antigas em pedra, os tons quentes da vila e a serenidade que os dois transmitiam criaram algo muito honesto e bonito.
Depois da cerimónia, percorremos as ruas estreitas de Óbidos para os retratos, deixando que a própria vila nos guiasse. É precisamente o que mais me encanta no nosso país, cada recanto tem textura, história e uma beleza imperfeita muito própria.
Como fotógrafa de casamentos em Portugal, dias como este lembram-me porque gosto tanto de documentar celebrações mais intimistas. Não porque tudo esteja perfeitamente planeado, mas pela forma como as pessoas nos fazem sentir.
